Gallet MultiChron 24HR
Introduced in 1953
Built on the architecture of the original Excelsior Park powered MultiChron 45M, the movements were specially modified to provide 30 minute recording and 24 hour military time reading. The first series with black dial (face) and Excelsior Park movement was a large watch for its time at 37.2mm. These were issued to US officers during the Korean war. A later Valjoux 7730 powered military version, minus the Gallet logo on the dial, was used during the Vietnam War. Whether these rare Vietnam War examples were officially issued or available for purchase on military bases is still uncertain. Surviving versions MultiChron 24HR are extremely rare with very few ever appearing on the secondary market.
